Every year, in July, Praça D. Maria II goes back to Medieval Viking times, in what is one of the most extensive events evocative of the Viking presence in the Iberian Peninsula.

Thousands of people are invited to learn about a historic fact that has already completed a millennium, but which is still unknown to many. In fact, it was in 2016 that 1000 years passed since the Norman/Viking incursion that was faced, in the year 1016, in the then Castle of Vermoim.
The Viking Medieval Fair is an opportunity for everyone to party, but also to share diverse knowledge, in a family, welcoming and fun environment. The organization is in charge of the Professional School CIOR, with the support of the Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão.
