The Teatro Cinema de Fafe, fully recovered, is one of the main reasons of architectural interest in the city of Fafe, constituting for the time of its construction, 1923, an important cultural landmark, having been considered one of the best theaters in the north of the country.

Its façade, with an unusual decoration and certainly unique in the region, has a beautiful outline. Painted in pink and with drawings of winged cupids, like the one that symbolizes the love of the arts, the facade bears the date of 1923, below the designation “Teatro-Cinema”, which refers to the finishing of the works, and not to their opening. , recorded in the following year. This work marks the end of the initiatives of Fafe’s “Brazilians” and his descendants, closing the cycle of emigration to Brazil, a land of rapid enrichment. The architecture of the interior is in the shape of a horseshoe, with a vaulted ceiling and decorated with pictorial motifs alluding to famous musicians, in addition to the figuration of the firmament.

The “jewel in the crown” of local culture, Teatro Cinema de Fafe, was the stage for several shows, until it closed in 1981. Acquired by the City Council 20 years later, it reopened in 2009 as a concert hall with a diverse and designed solely for the enjoyment of citizens.
