The current headquarters of Santa Casa da Misericórdia occupies an old mansion belonging to the Silva Mendes family, built in the 17th century. XIX, with neoclassical characteristics. The openings, with unadorned frames, are arranged symmetrically in two registers.
The central body is distinguished by the veranda and the curved pediment, in the center of which is the coat of arms. To the side rises the niche that originally framed one of the paintings of the Passos da Via-Sacra. It is currently covered with a tile panel, representing the Virgin of Mercy.
