In 2014, the traditional Fafe-style roast veal, cooked in a wood-fired oven, set the tone for the first edition of this Gastronomic Festival, which promotes the region’s most typical dish.
Ex-libris of the fafenses gastronomy, the roasted veal deserved more editions of the Gastronomic Festival, which proved to be a real success, with the visit of thousands of people to the giant tent, installed in the center of the city, where the countless meals are served for three very exciting days. The Festival of Veal Assada à Moda de Fafe is a bet of the Municipality that intends to give visibility to the Fafe dish at national level, contributing to the promotion of the Fafe brand and to the local economic development, especially in terms of catering.
Several restaurants in the county have joined the festival, taking part in the three days of festivities and cooking their best veal in a wood-fired oven, accompanied by traditional green wine and regional sweets.
