At the end of September, festivals in the Municipality of Tarouca take place in honor of São Miguel. In addition to the entertainment program, the festival reviews and recalls the best of the municipality through the presence of craft tents, institutions and associations, as well as regional cuisine.

The festival is also popular for its ethnographic parade, each year with a different theme, and for its grandiose fireworks display, on the eve of the holiday. On the 29th of September, a municipal holiday, the Annual Fair of São Miguel takes place during the whole day.

Parallel to the festivities, the sports program takes place, with handball, futsal and tennis tournaments. Specially dedicated to young people, the Varosa Moments party takes place at Casa do Paço.
