It is without a doubt the most popular festival of all festivals and that is how, over the years, S. João de Tabuaço has gained the sympathy of the Region for the atmosphere of festivity and parochialism that is experienced.

The main meaning of S. João de Tabuaço is in the spirit of dedication, generosity and altruism of the populations of each of the villages that make up the municipality and that allow themselves to be involved, thus continuing to honor the traditions of our people and our lands . This delivery is very visible and emotional above all in the high points of this festival, namely, on the night of the Popular Marches where hundreds of people make up one of the largest allegorical parades in the Region and, the following day, in the Solemn Procession in honor of S. João , where 22 platforms and hundreds of biblical figures honor this celebration of secular tradition.
Also secular is the famous rivalry between the two nuclei that make up Vila de Tabuaço, namely, Cimo and Fundo de Vila. For months, in total secrecy, Cimo and Fundo organize and prepare the march with which they will shine on the night of June 23, with Cimo opening the night of the Marches and Fundo closing it. Cimo de Vila and Fundo de Vila are rival revelers, a rivalry that extends to family and friends during the festivities.
What is certain is that, with the growing commitment of the population, although in a territory of low population density, with more and more visitors and tourists, and with a growing tourist potential, it is in Tabuaço that the s. John feels right at home!
