Wine tourism promotes the method of production of “Verdes de Eleição”, produced in the sub-Region of Ave, which is part of the Demarcated Region of Vinhos Verdes. This tourist activity invites you to discover the characteristics of the largest Portuguese Demarcated Region, its grape varieties, the production process, the tasting of its wines and, in a harmonizing experience, selected regional products.
The Casa da Torre wine project began in 1977 with the purchase of the property by Manuel de Sousa Lopes, a button industrialist from the north of Portugal. In the early 1980s, the planting of 5 hectares of vines began, as well as the restoration of the existing cellar, which was named “Adega Casa da Torre”. It is here that the grapes from the family properties are vinified, giving rise to the Quinta do Cruzeiro Wine – Loureiro, Arinto, Trajadura and the Regional Minho Wine Sousa Lopes – Loureiro, Chardonnay. The image on the labels is that of the Stone Pine – Pinus Pinea. This tree was planted on March 31, 1932 by the founder to commemorate the birth of his first daughter.
