Albufeira do Cabril
A true leisure space

Albufeira do Cabril is located in the municipalities of Sertã, Oleiros; Pedrógão Grande and Pampilhosa da Serra, this extensive body of water resulted from the construction, in 1954, of the dam with the same name.

It has a total capacity of 720,000 m³ and a usable capacity of 615,000 m³. Its share of the full storage level is 296 m, with a total perimeter of 280 km. Albufeira do Cabril is a true leisure space, which invites you to fully enjoy nature and tranquility. In the clear and crystalline waters of the Zêzere River, it is possible to dive, practice various sports, especially water sports, or even fish. In addition, you can also camp, have picnics or walk along the banks of the reservoir. The Miradouro de Nossa Senhora da Confiança, in Pedrógão Pequeno, is one of the best places to contemplate the reservoir.

Additional notes

The Cabril Dam is one of the largest Portuguese dams. It is 136 meters long (topping) and has a discharge capacity of 2200 m 3 /s. It was inaugurated on June 31, 1954 by the President of the Republic, General Craveiro Lopes.

The Zêzere River rises in Serra da Estrela, at about 1900 m altitude and flows into the Tagus River in Constância.
