Funerary monument (collective burial grave) from the Neolithic/Chalcolithic, which corresponds to a typical large dolmen of Beira Alta.

The Monument was discovered in 1911 by José Coelho, who excavated it in 1912, using the results of that work to write his Dissertation for the 4th year of the qualification course for secondary teaching. These works are published in Prehistory and its teaching: Mamaltar de Vale de Fachas. The excavation resulted in the recovery of archaeological remains that were integrated into the private collection of that researcher, donated to the Municipality of Viseu in 1979, after his death.
