A beautiful building with a neoclassical façade, the only one of its kind in the village, it was built from scratch for a female school and opened in 1878, as witnessed by the date in iron on the door.
It resulted from a donation from a wealthy businessman from Constância, Jacinto da Silva Falcão, who died in 1875. By will, he left the old house where he was born and enough money to demolish it and in its place to build the new school and house for the teacher, as well as as an annual income of 150,000 réis for the respective charges.
After fulfilling, for many years, the function of a Girls’ Education School, as indicated by the stone engraving on the pediment, the building would serve, at the end of the Estado Novo, as the municipal seat of the Portuguese Legion.
In 1975, the current Estrela Verde Club was created, which was installed in the building and would acquire its property from the State, in the 90s, for exclusively associative purposes.
