The Cais Fluvial dos Lentiscais is located on the Ponsul River, close to the town that gives it its name and 16 km from the city of Castelo Branco.
It supports tourist entertainment companies that promote boat trips along the Tejo Internacional Natural Park and river fishermen.
The Ponsul River rises in the Ramiro Mountains, at an altitude of 650 m and is a tributary of the right bank of the Tagus River.
This area is referred to as one of the main feeding places for the black stork (Ciconia nigra), in the region which, in addition to being a protected species, is very elusive and rare. It even has the status of Vulnerable species in Portugal. It feeds on crustaceans, amphibians and small fish that it can easily find around here.
It is equipped with a car park for light vehicles and an intermodal area for buses.
