In the vicinity of Porta do Soar, in Largo Pintor Gata, the devotion to Nossa Senhora dos Remédios was the main cause for the people to build a small chapel with sui generis characteristics.
Octagonal in plan, its construction dates from the first half of the 18th century and was sponsored by the people’s alms, as the inscription above the main door reminds us. Its interior is decorated with tile panels and gilded altarpieces that reflect the religiosity of the people of Viseu.
