This property reopened to the public in 2015 invigorated and with a different goal. On the top floor, there is a help point to welcome and support the thousands of pilgrims who cross the county every year on their way to Santiago de Compostela and others bound for Fátima. On the lower floor, the cycle of bread is represented.
Casa da Azenha was built in 1892 by António José da Silva and was divided into three different spaces. The upper floor served as housing, with the miller’s house facing the bridge and with direct access to the river. The office space was on the middle floor, where the mills and the mechanism that allowed grinding were located. Further down, there was the device that transmitted the movement of the outer wheel, powered by water, to the mills on the upper floor.
