The Municipality of Castelo de Vide owns, by express will of Fernando Salgueiro Maia, all its assets, namely what is directly linked to one of the most important events in the contemporary history of Portugal and the implementation of the Democratic Regime on April 25, 1974 .

Inaugurated on July 1, 2021, the 77th anniversary of Captain de Abril, and with the presence of His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, thus fulfilling the will left in his will by Salgueiro Maia. With a significant impact at a national level, given the particular and unique nature of this cultural and tourist project, it is a space closely linked to the history and memory of one of our most recent national heroes.
