Casa da Lã is a space that keeps local handicrafts alive, namely the art of working with wool.
In this space, visitors will be able to obtain historical information and find out about the various processes and tools used in the art of working wool, from shearing the sheep to the final piece.
Casa da Lã is part of the Museu das Terras de Basto, which belongs to the Municipality of Cabeceiras de Basto.
Based in the old elementary school of Bucos, Casa da Lã works as an interpretation center on working with wool, making it possible, on certain days, to follow live the execution of the different stages of working with wool.
A Casa da Lã, products made by the Women of Bucos are sold: blankets, blankets, pillows, scarves, rugs, hats, vests, coats, sweaters, scarves, five-needle socks and others.
During the visit to Casa da Lã, you will also be able to see and purchase a set of contemporary line pieces, made in wool.
