Property of Public Interest.
Construction of the fourteenth century.
Borba was elevated to Council on June 15, 1302, thanks to the Charter given by King D. Dinis.
D. Dinis had this castle built because years before, in 1297, the Treaty of Alcanices was signed, which still today establishes the borders between Portugal and Spain.
