Housed in a building with a strong architectural presence, it was inaugurated in 2013. It was designed by the Catalan architect Josep Lluis Mateo. Inside, it has areas for temporary exhibitions and an auditorium with 275 seats equipped with an acoustic system that does not require sound amplification.
The CCCCB is installed in a building designed by the Catalan architect Josep Lluis Mateo, in collaboration with the Portuguese architect Carlos Reis de Figueiredo, and is located in Campo Mártires da Pátria (Devesa), the center of the city, a place for meeting and leisure, close to other cultural facilities, such as the Cine-Teatro Avenida and the Municipal Library.
With a strong architectural presence, it is a hollow building, clad in metal and wood, with 4 floors (Floor -1 Entrance / Reception / Exhibition Area / Support Services), (Floor 0 Synthetic Ice Skating Rink), (Floor 1 Area Exhibition / Chamber Music Auditorium), (2nd Floor Exhibition Area / Chamber Music Auditorium / Cafeteria).
Guided Tours: Wednesdays – 11 am; Saturday – 11:00 am / 3:00 pm; Sunday – 11:00 am / 3:00 pm
On the remaining days, it is possible to schedule guided tours by appointment, and they do not have additional costs.
For those who prefer not to be accompanied during the visit, the CCCCB provides Sala Sheets (in Portuguese, English and Spanish) and tables with QR Codes, an application for tablets or smartphones.
