Designed by the architect Souto de Moura and awarded the international architecture prize in 2009, it receives works and installations by renowned artists, national and foreign, in addition to works that reflect the telluric experiences of the painter Graça Morais, born in Trás-os-Montes .
Inaugurated in 2008, the CACGM is a reference architectural project by architect Souto Moura.
The CACGM also has a nucleus of seven rooms dedicated to the work of the painter Graça Morais, in an exhibition program that is frequently renewed, reinforced by other multidisciplinary initiatives, namely educational programs, artistic practice workshops, concerts, performances and editorial activity.
The cafeteria with terrace and the small garden are also a privileged place to complement the enjoyment of this unique space, a paradigm of contemporary architecture and art.
