Work began in 1569 and ended in 1692. The clock tower was built a little later, in 1721.
In a similar style to the Minho manor house, this building has two staircases and bay windows on the upper floor. Access to its interior is done laterally through two cradle arches, the doors being in wrought iron. Already in the atrium, on the lintel of the entrance door, we find the coat of arms of Portugal.
The Main Hall was restored by Master Ventura Porfírio. It has two murals: one represents a bucolic landscape of the village, the other is representative of World War II and features the painting “The Scream” by Münch. On the ceiling are represented the four parishes of Castelo de Vide.
