The date 1696, inscribed on the portal, possibly corresponds to its completion.
Small in size, it has a symmetrical and harmonious façade, with the portal surmounted by a graceful niche that houses the image of Senhora da Fé.
The interior is completely lined with tiles from the mid-17th century, of extraordinary beauty, especially those that adorn the stone pulpit.
Also noteworthy is the carved altarpiece on the high altar, also from the 17th century, whose gilding disappeared over time, and the coat of arms of D. Pedro II who reigned in Portugal when the church was completed.
Also worthy of mention are the images of Senhor da Misericórdia, Senhora da Fé, Santa Luzia and Senhor dos Aflitos, as well as the six canvases from the old Passos that existed in the village until the Republic.
On the floor there are 24 tombs, numbered, filling all the space reserved for the faithful.
The Church, which served as headquarters between 1811 and 1822, had the Hospital da Misericórdia attached to it.
It was classified as a property of public interest in 1978.
