Fountain of Mealhada
Fountain from the 17th century

It is a fountain dating from the 17th century. XVII, located next to Parque 25 de Abril, in a superb location with the Serra de S. Paulo in the background.

It is made up of five pillars with capitals and fitted granite masonry, with an upper cymatium topped by a cornice with two lateral pinnacles decorated with a sphere and a frontal one with a circular coat of arms in marble with the coat of arms of the town, ending with a cross at the base of which the date 1699, the year of construction of this fountain, is engraved in this place.

Additional notes

The four spouts, from which the famous Castelo de Vide water flows, are made of marble and represent lion heads.
