With a total length of 370 km, the Grande Rota do Zêzere is a linear route that follows the river Zêzere between its source in Serra da Estrela and its mouth on the river Tagus in Constância, covering 13 municipalities along the way.
In addition to the possibility of being covered on foot, this route was designed and implemented so that it can also be done by bicycle or canoe. In this way, it can be carried out continuously and linked by sections, or in multimodal circuits, using more than one activity.
In Constância, the Grande Rota do Zêzere intersects the Caminho do Tejo, allowing sections of both routes to be carried out.
