Ordered to be built in 1772 by Joaquim Inácio da Cruz, the Nossa Senhora da Vida Church came to replace the old matrix of the village. Its construction was directed by Reinaldo Manuel dos Santos, a renowned architect, responsible for the reconstruction of Lisbon after the 1755 earthquake. With good stonework, it has five altars and a choir with three arches inside. It features a tall, well-lit nave with a large triumphal arch. Dedicated to the cult of Nossa Senhora da Vida, already venerated in a previous chapel existing in the village, for over a hundred years. Inside, you can see a tile panel that depicts an episode that occurred during its construction and the relics of Saint Aurelia on the altar evocative of the Crucifixion of Christ.
Visit the Nossa Senhora da Vida Church, where you can see the tile panel as well as the bones of Santa Aurelia.
