The bank of Cávado known as “Souto dos Burros” is a leisure sand area located in the parish of Barcelinhos. In this area, it is possible to dazzle the historic area of Barcelos in all its splendor, in which the Palace of the Counts of Barcelos, the Main Church and the imposing Medieval Bridge stand out. It is a natural habitat for several species, being possible to dazzle, for example, the little white heron, gray heron, cormorant, wild ducks, among others. This place is also very popular for hiking and family outings, being part of a 3-kilometre stretch that connects the Barcelinhos beach to the mouth of the Amiais stream, always with the course of the Cávado River as a backdrop.
