Another point of reference in the landscape of the county’s territory is the Miradouro do Cristo Rei, in Cabanas de Viriato, at 312 meters above sea level. From here we can see Quinta de São Cristóvão, where Casa do Passal is built (where Aristides de Sousa Mendes, the Portuguese Consul in Bordeaux lived during the Nazi Holocaust, and where several Jewish families took refuge), classified as a National Monument by resolution of the Council de Ministros, in May 2011 and from where it is possible to see a large part of the Beira plateau and some villages located on the slopes of Serra da Estrela.
It has a Cristo-Rei as a tourist attraction.
