From the top of this place, which is just over 8 km from the city of Barcelos, it is possible to have a fabulous view of the city of Braga, Barcelos and Vila Verde, as well as the path of the Cávado River upstream of Braga on its way to the Atlantic. It is certainly one of the most privileged viewpoints in Minho, which has an altitude of around 304 meters, and is located in front of Bom Jesus de Braga, which is perfectly visible from the south side of this place, as well as the mountains of Gerês. It also has the Cávado valley at its feet to the south, and the immensity of the smallholdings and the Neiva valley to the north, making it possible to appreciate the two slopes of Minho, more humanized and industrialized to the south and more rural and natural to the north, where the verdant valley do Tamel is an indescribable Eden in the transition from the lands of Barcelos to the Lima valley. It also provides views over other places of interest.
This mount constitutes a very interesting cultural, archaeological and religious heritage. Highlights include the Chapel of S. Lourenço, the memorial to D. Nuno Álvares Pereira, the monument with Forno de Galegos and the remains of the citadel Roriz/ Oliveira, in addition to the chapel of Senhora do Facho at the highest point of the hill.
The Monte do Facho Viewpoint is about 304 meters high.
