Founded in 1915, the exhibition makes known the religious, social, political, economic and artistic history of Nordeste Trás-os-Montes and the memory of the old Episcopal Palace.
The region’s prehistory and protohistory are also documented through artifacts and other objects from collecting and metallurgical societies.
Testimonies of the northeastern romanization are the funerary stelae, altars, milestones, agricultural instruments, ceramics and objects of adornment.
It has a core of national numismatics and goldsmithery from the 18th and 19th centuries and also a significant set of furniture.
It is headquartered in the building of the old Episcopal Palace of Bragança.
