In Rossio we find one of the most emblematic works of art in the city: the tile panel by Joaquim Lopes.
Executed in 1930 at the Agueiro factory, in Gaia, the panel is divided into four scenes representing an allegory to the rural world and the people who once filled the streets with color, sounds and flavors. It portrays the time when the countryside came to the city to sell its products, to walk around in its costumes, to give life to the streets. We feel the murmur of conversations, the sounds and cries.
