Parish Church of Santa Margarida
Headquarters of Santa Margarida da Coutada

It is a temple from the last quarter of the 17th century, as evidenced by the date 1678 engraved in the stone above the front door.

From the middle of the following century (1747) is the beautiful sundial that can be found in the corner on the right side of the viewer, probably the work of the Italian João António de Pádua.

It was improved in the second half of the 19th century, when the beautiful cross was placed, dating from 1872 and carved in the stone above the large window on the façade. The pulpit, which has a date of 1878 on its base, was then restored and painted.

New restoration works were carried out following a fire that hit the church in the summer of 1987.

The greatest wealth of this rural time are its images which, unfortunately, cannot be worshiped due to the greed of the thieves who already robbed it, in 1996. Only the Santíssima Trindade remains in its place, an imposing and very heavy stone image of the XVI century, of great artistic value.

The churchyard is marked by the majestic presence of two ash trees, one of which is definitely secular.
