The Environmental Park of Santa Margarida (PASM) is a ludic-pedagogical space with about 6 hectares, located in a rural area of the parish of Santa Margarida da Coutada, which opened to the public in April 2002.
We provide visitors with direct contact with nature, being able to enjoy moments of leisure and providing information and activities related to the environment and nature. Any visitor can simply enjoy the space individually or in conviviality with family and friends, or carry out activities integrated in environmental education programs or in sporadic visits.
The Santa Margarida Environmental Park is equipped with a wide range of equipment and offers various thematic activities.
Equipment that makes up the PASM:
Ecoteca, made up of an Internet space, an environmental documentation centre, a reading room in the municipal library, exhibitions, a laboratory, an auditorium and a shop;
Tropical Butterfly House;
Picnic Park;
Playground;
Outdoor Gym;
Playground;
Outdoor Amphitheater;
Observation Tower;
Garden of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants;
didactic modules for exploration of environmental themes.
Activities available to visitors:
exploration of environmental interpretation circuits;
guided tours to the Tropical Butterfly House;
guided tours to the aromatic and medicinal plant garden;
interpretive walking tours;
specific activities for school audiences.
Opening time
From April to September: 08:30am – 08:00pm.
February, March and October: 08:30am – 07:00pm.
November, December and January: 08:30am – 06:00pm.
