The pedestrian trail starts at the entrance to Louriçal do Campo (470m altitude). Passing by the Igreja Matriz de S. Bento (16th century), the streets follow one another until you exit, through vegetable gardens and olive groves, towards the edges of the mountains.
The walk through loose stone walls leads to the crossing of a pine forest. You then reach the path to the top of the mountain, which passes next to the top of the Jesuit cross, winding through the chaos of balls. The vegetation is diversified with the presence of large cork oaks and patches of Pyrenean oak. At a curve, there is a crossroads that allows you to shorten the route through the PR1.1 variant and that gives access to interesting picnic parks/viewpoints, in the direction of Casal da Serra.
The longer variant now goes up towards Baldeira, passing through a picnic area and equipped climbing routes.
At the crossroads to Castelo Novo, there is one of the most famous viewpoints in Gardunha, with an immense view over the amphitheater of Castelo Novo.
Further ahead, it is the realm of granite forms, true geological monuments, at the top of the Old Castle (1443 m). From here, the path descends towards Casal da Serra, crossing numerous springs and water intakes. Next to the Municipal Services house, a trail leads to the magnificent Ocreza gorge, where stone channels allow access to secluded natural pools with crystalline waters separated by beautiful waterfalls and 18 watermills hidden amidst the exuberant diversity of riparian flora.
Torre is reached, and crossing the river, Louriçal is reached along Rua de São Sebastião, through vegetable gardens and paths flanked by large loose stone walls.
