The route starts at the entrance to the village, among the urban fabric, and passes by the Casa de Artes e Ofícios. After the last houses, cross the stream on a small iron bridge and, taking the paths that cross the floodplain, it is possible to follow along the levadas, contemplate a dam and observe beautiful mixtures of olive groves, medronhal and holm oak groves.
Further on, we cross the stream again at the Volta bridge, entering a new trail that follows a levada coming from a top weir. Climbing about 30 meters, we walk along Levada Nova to its dam, where a path leads us to a forest path.

We reach a crossroads where a pontoon takes us to Porto da Vila. Following this trail, we discover the riparian corridor of the Almaceda stream again and are surrounded by a landscape of small vegetable gardens, olive groves and traditional shale houses. We cross the river again on a paddock, heading along the forest trail to the village of Almaceda, where its riverside garden and river beach invite us to a well-deserved rest. As an alternative to the main route, a shorter variant (PR2.1) was created. After crossing the Volta bridge, we go along the “Levada dos Moinhos” passing through the old mill center towards Martim Branco.
