The River Vez Open Air Water Museum was created with the aim of disseminating and valuing the richness of the cultural and environmental heritage associated with nature, the River Vez and the human activity associated with it.
Being an open-air museum, the visitor has the opportunity to be in direct contact with nature, appreciating the faunal and floristic diversity that arises associated with the river. At the same time, you can still discover many traces, of high historical, architectural and ethnographic value, left by the communities of the past.
Throughout the Museum there are several interpretive panels that aim to give the visitor some guidance and information, drawing their attention to the natural and heritage values that are observed along the route.

Although the river Vez runs through a valley without barriers, it is possible to assign a dominant character to different areas, defined on the basis of the degree of humanisation, the typology of the river and the occupation of its banks by different landscape units.
These characteristics are behind the organization of the Museum in different themes (from A to F), in an analogy to the thematic rooms of an art museum. Each panel on the ground corresponds to a different room, in which the organization fundamentally took into account the natural aspects.
This does not mean that only in the regions covered by each panel is it possible to observe the natural elements referenced in them. It only indicates places where the observation of these elements (species, habitats, types of organisms…) is more likely, easier or more characteristic of the present sector of the river Vez.
