Valuing the landscapes of the longest road in Portugal is the objective of the initiative. With the aim of promoting and valuing the territory crossed by the National Road nº2, the Municipality of Viseu joined the project “Rota da Estrada Nacional 2”.
Estrada Nacional 2 is the longest road in the country, connecting Chaves to Faro, over a length of over 700 km. Viseu is thus part of a movement that aims to complement efforts to promote landscapes and local resources, developing tourism potential. Contradicting the option for fast roads, creating good reasons for users to return to this historic section is one of the main objectives of the route.
