The pedestrian route “On the Sra. da Consolação rail to the Banks of Cávado” travels and crosses the rural territories of the parishes of Fornelos, Gilmonde and Vila Seca, exploring the south bank of the River Cávado. (Pedestrian path in the certification phase).
Pedestrian trail of great natural, scenic, patrimonial and cultural beauty that crosses secluded places on the bank of the river Cávado, among scenarios of natural and landscape excellence, in which countless bird species find their natural refuge. At the same time, it immersed itself in the depths of the rural world and the community’s agricultural endeavors, passing through popular devotion places such as the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Consolação, in Vila Seca, the parish church and the Chapel of Santa Comba in Fornelos, and countless examples of popular architecture that are worth noting, as are good examples, the fountains, the granite houses, the mills and watermills that recall the strong connection of these people to the river in times past. Pedestrian trail with a length of 13 km, with a maximum elevation of approximately 94 meters, of an easy nature.
